Hi, today we talk about how to flash or Install Stock Rom v1 of Micromax a210 Canvas 4. This is first Rom of Micromax Canvas 4 v1 by Micromax. This phone has ultimate features like  The Aluminum body as an antenna to improve call quality,  blow air on the screen or shake phone to unlock phone, Pin any video to the screen & multitask seamlessly between applications and most important with the ‘look away’ feature that pauses a video being played as soon as you look away from the screen!

Canvas 4 has Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Mediatek 6589 Processor 1.2 GHz Quad-Core, RAM 1 GB, Rear Camera 13 MP and Front Camera 5 MP, Display 5 inch, 1920 x 1080, In-Built Storage 8 GB and Battery 2500 mAh. It is outstanding phone. It is easy to install V1 Rom in Canvas 4.

Preparation of flash or update:

1.  Take a backup of your phone Click here.
2. Take a backup of your IMEI no. by mobileuncle tool Click here.
3. Your phone battery should charge 80% minimum.
4. Make sure proper power backup of your PC and Read all steps then do it careful.

Easy steps to Install Stock Rom v1 of Micromax a210 Canvas 4:

Step 1: Install drivers in your PC (If you feel any problem in install driver and Enable USB Debugging on your Phone. Go to Settings >>> Developer options >>> USB debugging check it ( If your phone have Android 4.2 or upper version then see how to enable Developer options here is guide of this Click here). After then switch off your phone.

Step 2:  Extract the Stock ROM folder where you want then Extract and open the SP Tool. and run Sptool.exe Run as Administrator

Step 3: You will see an SP tool window, now click on the scatter-Loading option in the SP tool. Then you will get the new tab of SP Tool which you ask the location of the scatter file on your PC. You will find this scatter file in the extracted Stock ROM folder. Now go to the Rom folder and select the file “Android_scatter_emmc.txt”. See in this image.

Flashing-process

Step 4:  Now You will see two options for flashing Rom, first is “firmware upgrade” option which is used to update or flash your Rom without deleting your data and second one is “Download” option this is work for format your phone then flash Stock Rom ( like fresh Rom installation). So choose according to your requirement and I suggest, click on the “Download” option and flash fresh Rom on your phone.

Step 5: Now connect your switch off phone to the PC via USB cable  (Make sure your phone is switched off). SP Tool detect your phone and process will start. See in below image. If Sptool is not recognize/detect your phone then install vcom driver read this post it will help you click here  (Driver already in phone flash drive if you don’t have these drivers then install it)

Step 6: Now Sptool start downloading Stock Rom in your phone by flashing.

Note: Don’t interrupt this process as it can potentially brick your device. Make sure no power interruption takes place.

Step 7:  After the process complete, a green ring will appear.

Step 8: Disconnect your phone. Now your phone is updated.

After update you can root Canvas 4 because root allows for you to use a maximum of your phone without any restrictions.After root you will install custom apps, custom Rom and custom setting in your phone. We already discuss on Root Advantage and Disadvantage by earlier post.   7. my canvas 4 goes into charging when i tried to use your method. nothing is happening.
    phone is not bricked.
    i am actually getting android.process.acore has stopped. any suggestions. should i root my phone before doing flashing?

      yes, in case you make mistake then your phone recovery, so you should turn on USB debugging

      I am respect of your request but Custom Rom means Problems begin.

      Every day lots of people comment on my blog "after custom Rom they get IMEI number lost problem and bricked their phone" and i try best to recovery their phone. Some phone recovered but some phone go to service center. It is true. So Best Rom is Stock Rom.

      I am respect all Good Developer of INDIA and all of World they try to make best custom Rom. They are few developer and lots of work so they cann't make custom Rom for every phone. Now this time every one want to make custom Rom for their phone and lots of tutorials available on net.They leave some mistake in making custom Rom and bricked peoples phone and some time brick their own phone also.

      My Question it is : how can you know, custom Rom full bug less or not?

      if your Custom Rom have a error then your phone bricke or lost IMEI number

      And I don't have all Model and Brand of phone to try custom Rom then suggest peoples

      which is Custom Rom best for their phone. and I don't want to brick people phones.

  13. for installing vcom driver, When I connect the phone it connects (I can hear the sound) and the arrow changes colour to yellow and then after 5 seconds it gets disconnected (again the sound) and starts charging…! even if i manage to install the drive within that 5 seconds it shows some error message and says "the third INF does not contains digital signature information". help plz..!

    1. sir why i want to flash the stock ROM is that in my mobile it shows "invalid IMEI"… and i tried engineering mode, mobile uncle tool, and also i tried replacing the root IMEI file… but all the above methods did not work… because of this reason only i again want to flash my stock ROM to access the engineering mode and correct my IMEI..!

    When I connect the phone (switched off) it connects (I can hear the sound) and then disconnects (again the sound) and starts charging. plz help..!

    1. This Rom was too large. So I divided this ROM in two parts. Download both file and extract them copy system.img file form second part and paste it into part first.

    2. nothing happened sir!! help me here nw wid dis issue!!
      " my canvas 4 is bricked..it is not showing any sign of charging..but gives a sound wen i attached it to my pc via usb cable.. i want to unbrick it any how asap!!" plss tl me how to do it???

      dre is no cwm recovery in it….what actually happend is that..i was able to flash a stock rom in my canvas 4 it done correctly but dre is a imei issue dn i thought to format it whole wid sptool
      n flash it again but nw it shows error " brom error" "enable dram failed"!!!
      i want to unbrick it and flash a stock rom!! please hlp me n replyy fast…u r d only hope nw…do replyy fasttt!!!!! am waitingg!!

      Don't get panic, Charge your battery from other source minimum 80%

      then open sp tool run as administrator

      load scatter file from your Rom Folder

      then click on Download

      put your battery in your phone after that connect your switch off phone to PC

      wait for few minute, after same time Sp tool detect your phone and flashing process will start

      if your phone not detect then disconnect your phone, remove your battery put in once again
      and click on down load connect your phone to PC wait for few minute

      open phone dialer and type these code *#*#3646633#*#*
      these code open Engineer Mode –>
      go to CDS information –>
      then click on Radio information –>
      then click on Phone 1 –>
      in tat at+ tab type e it shows two option –>
      Pick one option for phone 1 and type IMEI No between double quotes –>
      after then pick different one option for phone 2 and type IMEI No between double quotes –>
      reboot your phone

  42. I decided on the canvas 4 after a lot of thought. i had owned a samsung previously and was very happy with their offerings. And yet the 13mp cam and 1 gb ram at this price swayed me around. My choices were the samsung grand duos and the umi x2.

    I am quite happy with it. brought it directly from the micromax site. installed nearly 80 plus apps and games and no slowness with the phone.

    Only one drawback . i cant seem to get more than 8 hours on a full charge with gprs on. the set also seems to heat up a bit after prolonged use.

    the videos are gud enough. alot of bells and whistles too.

    Overall a good buy for the price. its meets my requirements to a T. Micromax has got a winner
