Super Computer are specially designed for specific or complex scientific jobs just like nuclear research, weather forecasting and many more. These computers are the fastest computer around the whole world and World Top Powerful Supercomputers.
India’s first supercomputer program was began in 1980 due to Cray supercomputers were rejected for import due to the main reason is to an arms embargo forced on India, as it was a twin use technology and could be used for growing nuclear weapons. India’s first supercomputer is PARAM 8000.
Param Yuva II is revealed on 8th Feb. 2013, this supercomputer is developed by the CDAC’s (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing). It is the first position in India and also 9th most powerful and efficient supercomputer in the Asia Pacific Region. It has 44th rank in all top supercomputers around the world. It performs at a peak of 524 teraflop/s using 210 kiloWatt power, about ten-times much faster than the current facility. Param Yuva II will be used for complex scientific jobs like space-research, scientific data processing, weather forecasting, aerospace engineering, and medical development. Approx 300 peoples are working together to prepare supercomputer in the C-DAC which also assures to be energy capable with 35% decrease in energy consumption as compared to the earlier facility.
