How to use BHIM App and It’s functions

PM Narendra Modi launched BHIM app. Its full form is Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM). It will work on UPI based payment system.

To encourage digital payment Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched BHIM app. Its full form is Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM). It will work on UPI based payment system. Through this app people can receive and send money by digital way.

The special feature of this is that this app will work without internet connection. In this user will not need to fill his account number or IFSC code etc.

How to operate this BHIM app:

  1. This BHIM app is developed by National Payment corporation of India (NPCI).
  2. You have to once register your bank account number and generate UPI pin code to use this app for money transaction.
  3. After that your mobile number will work as your payment address in all money transaction. You need not to fill account number every time.
  4. If you don’t have internet connection in your phone, still you can operate this app by dialing USSD code *99#. It will work without internet connection.
  5. Right now, this app will support Hindi and English language. But soon other regional languages will be attached with this app.

Check balance:

You can check your bank account balance through this app.

Custom Payment Address:

You can add custom payment address with your phone number also.

QR code:

You can send payment to anyone through scanning QR code also. For this you need to scan merchant’s QR code.

Transaction limit:

you can transfer minimum 10,000 rupees or maximum 20,000 rupees within 24 hours.

There is no charge of using this BHIM app:

If you have doubt in your mind that you have to pay for using this app, then you can be happy that this app is without any charge can be used. But in IMPS and UPI transfer bank can charge you.

How to use it:

This app is available on above 8th version of android or 5th version of iOS. You can download this BHIM app from play store or iOS store.

This which are must to use this app:

To use this app, you need smartphone, Internet access, UPI payment support Indian bank account number and mobile number which is linked with your account. Through this app, you need to linked your bank account to UPI.

Need of mobile banking activation:

There is no need to have mobile banking activation of your account. Only your mobile number should be register with your bank account.

Need of any special bank account:

For direct money transfer your bank should be live on UPI (Unified Payment Interface) platform. All UPI platform banks listed in this app.

How to generate UPI pin for my bank account by this app:

To generate UPI pin of your bank account you need to go to main menu of BHIM app. Click on bank account in main menu, select Set UPI-PIN option. After that you will be asked last six digit of your debit or ATM card and expiry date of your card. After you fill all this info, you will get an OTP on your phone, with that you will set UPI-PIN.
Right now, you can add only one account in your BHIM app.

Giving account details to BHIM app:

At the time of registration, you need to give your debit card details and mobile number. Through your debit card number app gets your details automatically. You need not to give all these information.
